River Walk is a residential development by Ballymore in Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare, comprising 80 energy-efficient homes on the banks of the River Liffey.
Tower Civil Engineering was appointed to deliver the groundworks and drainage package for the development, providing the below-ground infrastructure required to support the new neighbourhood. The works included complex foul drainage installations in challenging ground conditions with a high water table close to the river.

Tower delivered the civil engineering package for River Walk, an 80-home residential development on the banks of the River Liffey in Ballymore Eustace.
A key element involved installing a foul-water storage tank and sump within two adjoining excavations approximately 13 m long by 8 m wide. The works were carried out around 30 m from the river in loose sandy and gravelly ground with a high water table.
To safely support the excavation, Tower used a sheet-piled cofferdam with three levels of hydraulic Mega Brace framing, configured to suit formation depths of approximately 5.81 m and 4.75 m while maintaining clear access for the precast units. Continuous dewatering was maintained using 6-inch and 4-inch pumps before construction of an in-situ concrete base and crane installation of the tanks.
