Brief Description:
Commissioned by Offaly County Council, the Rahan to Pollagh Greenway comprised the construction of approximately 5 km of macadam and stone greenway along the Grand Canal, linking Rahan to Pollagh, together with the upgrading of pavements and streetscape and junction improvements in Pollagh village. Tower Plant & Civil Engineering Ltd acted as Main Contractor and PSCS, working closely with ESB, Waterways Ireland, landowners and Offaly County Council to deliver the scheme safely and with minimal disruption to the local community.

The project comprised the construction of 5 km of macadam and stone greenway along the Grand Canal, linking Rahan to Pollagh, and included the upgrading of pavements in Pollagh village.
Tower completed streetscape and junction improvements within Pollagh, installing high-quality concrete paving with its in-house team of 35 specialist pavers.
Additional works included accommodation works for local landowners, public interface management, and full traffic and pedestrian management to Chapter 8 standards.
Tower liaised closely with ESB, Waterways Ireland, landowners, and Offaly County Council throughout. As PSCS and Main Contractor, Tower ensured all works were carried out safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the local community.
