Tower Plant & Civil Engineering Ltd was appointed as Main Contractor and PSCS to carry out urgent works on a structurally failing bridge on the R400. Under a full road closure managed by Tower, the existing structure was safely demolished and replaced. Key elements included:

• Installation of precast foundation rails and a bottomless precast culvert
• In-situ concrete deck construction
• Installation of high-containment kerbing and roadside fencing
• Resurfacing of the road and approaches
• Implementation of a temporary steel crash deck under the bridge to eliminate the need for river diversion during demolition

This emergency scheme was delivered efficiently and safely, restoring critical transport infrastructure while protecting the surrounding environment.
