Brief Description:
Phase 2 of the Edenderry Inner Relief Road, commissioned by Offaly County Council, involved the construction of a 700-metre new road over peatlands and the upgrade of over 1 km of existing road infrastructure.
This key transport project improves traffic flow and accessibility in Edenderry, connecting the Monasteroris Business Park roundabout to Fr. McWey Road, west of the R401 Junction. Tower acted as PSCS and main contractor, delivering all civil works from earthworks to final surfacing.

Detailed Description:
Tower delivered the full civil engineering scope for the 700 m road construction and 1+ km upgrade of the Edenderry Inner Relief Road Phase 2.
Works included the excavation of over 28,000 m³ of peat, with road formation built using 6A, Class 1, and 6F2 materials across 35,000 m³.
Key installations included surface and foul drainage, watermain works, attenuation swales, and over 1,000 metres of fencing. Pavement layers comprised 7,553 m² of AC32 and AC20 and 13,500 m² of HRA 35/14 40/60.
Tower also constructed concrete footpaths, macadam cycle paths, kerbing, line marking, and traffic signage & public lighting. Full traffic management (Chapter 8) was provided by Tower’s in-house Traffic Management Team.
Environmental protection measures, including spill kits and bunds, were deployed throughout the works to safeguard local watercourses.
