Brief Description:
Commissioned by Offaly County Council, the Grand Canal Greenway Urban Section project involves the construction of a 2.6 km greenway corridor through Tullamore, connecting Convent View to Cox’s Bridge and from the 28th Lock to Sragh Bridge. This strategic link completes the final section between two previously delivered schemes—the Tullamore Public Realm Enhancement and the Offaly Grand Canal Greenway—enhancing pedestrian and cycle connectivity in the region. Tower is acting as main contractor and PSCS on the project.

Detailed Description:
This contract involves the delivery of a 2.6 km urban greenway through Tullamore, linking Convent View to Cox’s Bridge and the 28th Lock to Sragh Bridge. It serves as the final connector between two major Offaly County Council initiatives—the Tullamore Public Realm Enhancement and the Offaly Grand Canal Greenway.
Tower is undertaking the role of main contractor and PSCS, managing all construction activities and safety compliance. Key works include the installation of over 1,000 m² of 80mm thick natural granite paving and 1,000 linear metres of granite kerbing using a rigid bedding system at various high-profile interfaces around Kilbeggan Bridge.
All works are being executed with strict adherence to the project-specific requirements, ensuring seamless integration with the existing greenway and urban realm infrastructure, while maintaining the highest standards in material quality, accessibility, and finish.
