Main Contractor
Tower Plant & Civil Engineering Ltd was appointed as Main Contractor to deliver the replacement of a structurally failing bridge on the L3001. The project was completed under a full road closure managed by Tower to ensure public safety and efficient delivery.
The works included:
- Demolition of the existing bridge structure
- Installation of precast MY4 bridge beams and MYE4 edge beams
- Construction of an in-situ concrete deck
- Installation of high parapets and crash barriers
- Scaffolding installed on both sides of the bridge to provide access and ensure safe execution of key operations
- Full road resurfacing, including approach roads
- Use of a temporary steel crash deck to catch debris during demolition, eliminating the need for river diversion
The successful completion of this project restored a vital local route and improved long-term safety and durability for road users.
